Coralus

Coralus (formerly SheEO) is a Toronto-based community-funding initiative founded in 2015 by Vicki Saunders, designed as a radically redesigned alternative to traditional venture capital for women and non-binary entrepreneurs. Its model pools funds from members called "Activators," who collectively decide which ventures receive support, creating a self-regenerating, revolving pool of community capital across five countries, including Canada, the U.S., the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Coralus's investment approach centers on collaboration and radical generosity rather than competition or traditional equity stakes. Its criteria favor women- and non-binary-led ventures with strong revenue-generation potential and meaningful social impact, prioritizing collective decision-making over conventional due diligence.
