About KEC Ventures
KEC Ventures is a New York City-based early-stage venture capital firm founded in 2011 by Jeff Citron — serial entrepreneur and founder of Vonage, Datek Online, and Island ECN — and Jeff Parkinson, a former investment banker at Citigroup and ABN Amro. The firm manages approximately $98 million in assets across two funds and has made over 70 investments to date.
The firm began as a generalist seed investor before tightening its focus toward back-end commerce infrastructure, supply chain digitization, logistics optimization, agriculture, food technology, and industrial automation. It invests primarily in US-based startups, with select exposure to Israel, China, and other international markets.
Typical check sizes range from $250K to $1.5 million at the seed stage, with Series A participation averaging around $6.6 million. Notable portfolio companies include FanDuel, TechStyle, Rocksbox (acquired by Nordstrom), MaestroQA, Gooten, and Drync, with one unicorn, one IPO, and 15 acquisitions across the portfolio.
