Supernode Ventures is a venture capital firm founded in 2017 by Laurel Touby, a former business journalist, tech entrepreneur, and founder of mediabistro.com. Headquartered in New York City, the firm invests at the pre-seed and seed stages. Its inaugural Fund I was sector-agnostic, backing early-stage tech companies across FinTech, HealthTech, B2B/enterprise, eCommerce, and supply chain, with over 50 companies in its portfolio. The firm's current focus has shifted toward women's health. Beyond investing, Supernode provides mentorship, network access, and operational guidance to its portfolio companies. Founder Laurel Touby also hosts regular Tech Media Dinner & Discussion events, keeping the firm actively engaged with the broader startup and media ecosystem. Notable Fund I portfolio companies include Braze (IPO'd in 2021), BBOT (acquired for $100M), Electric.ai, DeepScribe, Levels Health, Habi, Covalto, Ontop, and Passport Shipping, among others.
