Toronto Innovation Acceleration Partners (TIAP)

TIAP identifies, funds, and develops transformative, member-sourced, early-stage innovation into successful Canadian companies. Our portfolio consists solely of technologies in therapeutics, medical devices, and digital health. We develop this portfolio in close consultation with our Members and their inventors to advance the most promising innovations with the greatest potential to make a change for patients. Further development of the portfolio is supported by our deep network of industry advisors and by matched funding from international and local investors. TIAP is a member-supported, not-for-profit organization created in 2008 to develop innovative research from its Members: Toronto’s top universities, hospitals and research institutes. We are grateful for the funding support over the years from the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization of Research (CECR) program, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev), and from our strategic industry partners Amgen and Evotec SE. BUILD TIAP transforms early-stage scientific innovations into business ventures. ADVISE TIAP de-risks ideas through expert financial and scientific advice. INVEST TIAP invests in early-stage innovations and sources external venture capital for future funding. CONNECT TIAP leverages its extensive global and local network to create links between industry, researchers, investors and Members.
