TQ Ventures was founded in 2018 by longtime friends Schuster Tanger and Andrew Marks. Neither came from venture. Instead, each brought experience from traditional investing and a lifelong obsession with understanding what makes truly exceptional businesses. Schuster and Andrew approached the VC industry with a clean slate, studied it without fear or favor, and designed a firm rooted in common sense and respect for the craft. With an unusually deep love for investing, they built TQ from first principles around the simple question: how do we identify, partner with, and support the world’s most promising founders? Today, TQ manages approximately $2 billion in assets across four funds and has invested in more than 80 companies globally. Each fund has achieved top-decile or top-quartile performance, and we’ve done it while operating largely under the radar.
