Our country is facing an obesity epidemic.   As a result, over 40% of the U.S. population 18 and over are pre-diabetic and 20% are already type 2 diabetics.  The additional cost of care for a diabetic with no co-morbidities is $12,000 per year.  Over 95% of diabetics have one or more co-morbidities that increase the annual additional cost of care to $20,000 - $30,000.  20% of predaibetics become diabetics within 4 years.  We can positively impact these trends  with healthy behavior change.  A transformative innovative approach is required and digital engagement must be the foundation.  Our current approach to metabolic risk and disease is to react and treat.  If we want to get ahead of  this epidemic, we need proactive engagement and prevention at scale.

AI Health Solutions, Inc. (AIHS|) has developed an AI enabled and behavior science driven platform for risk bearing businesses to offer their members. Our focus is on enabling healthy behavior changes that reduce metabolic risk and disease. It is a virtual platform that offers hyper-personalized engagement and coaching for participants to reach their health and wellness goals. Risk bearing entities include self-insured employers,  provider organizations with risk bearing contracts and health plans that manage cost and quality of care.    

Healthy behavior change is hard.   We have developed a unique capability to personalize interactions with participants.  We utilize available EMR, claims, lab and other data with information we gain from purpose driven discovery chats with participants, via our AI health companion named YODHA (Your Own Digital Health Advocate).   This comprehensive data is used  to create an in depth understanding of health risks, concerns, levels of motivation and self-confidence, barriers to health and their aspirations for future health and wellness.   With these insights, we develop personalized engagement strategies that start with where the person is at today and partner with them to begin their journey to health with empathy, understanding and motivational interviewing.  Our platform will provide an ability to track the type, frequency and intensity activity either manually or by integration to wearables like FitBit.  We also offer food and nutrition support, using photo capture or manual entry  to personalize education, recommendations and coaching support.  We expect to also monitor and offer support for emotional states an behaviors that negatively impact physical health.   

Our market strategy is currently focused on self-insured employers because they have substantial exposure to the long-term cost of care for their employees as well as near term incentive to maintain a high level of productivity, low absenteeism and high level of employee satisfaction with their health benefit package.   We expect to apply for certification as a vendor supporting the new  ACCESS  medicare FFS model that enables primary care provides to deliver virtual diabetes prevention services and get paid for it.
