Ear Physics is redefining how people hear. Ear Physics® has developed a multi patented audio technology that addresses a fundamental limitation in human hearing: perceived frequency imbalance at different volume levels. The Ear Physics team has years of experience in audio signal processing with over 40 issued patents in this field. Ear Physics has expertise in audio digital signal processing including many patents in adaptive audio dynamics. This background and expertise was the basis for developing a new novel approach to both measuring hearing response and applying digital signal processing with adaptive dynamics specifically designed for hearing normalization and correction. This technology takes multiple sound level measurements and applies multiple adaptive hearing correction responses all with adaptive dynamics. This delivers an unparalleled level of audio performance for both non hearing impaired and those with hearing loss.
Based on the Ear Physics process a hearing test is done at a minimum of two sound levels, one at threshold of hearing using shaped noise which represents real world sounds and a second using masking noise to measure a persons hearing response at a higher sound level. These measurements are used to directly calculate the users required correction response curves and applies this correction dynamically based on the incoming sound pressure level. The process also uses a patented adaptive dynamics signal processing for absolute transparency. This means the adaptive dynamics processing is totally transparent avoiding any audible side effects of volume pumping or audible spectral changes in the sound. The result is sound quality like never heard with higher resolution, detail and clarity. Unlike the currently used method of tuning a hearing aid based on a prescription method where the audiogram data is input into a computer program for a “best fit” based on others with similar audiogram measurements. The Ear Physics method uses the direct users measurements to calculate the required hearing correction at multiple sound levels delivering never heard accuracy.
Clinical testing is underway with an acclaimed ENT surgeon to support future FDA pathways and expansion into large-scale opportunities across consumer audio, hearing health, and beyond. The initial product design and development is completed and ready for production. Ear Physics technology is covered under US Patents 11,641,183 and 12,101,605 with other US and foreign patents pending.
