I run autism awareness training sessions for parents/carers/teachers/support staff, but also for employers & the wider general community. KTalk now serves the wider community by providing autism training that builds understanding capacity for individuals who seek empowerment and positive, lasting, meaningful, and real impact to change people’s lives through its offerings. It provides support to achieve greater choice, control, and positive life outcomes.
KTalk began in 2007, following Kerryn’s development of The Goal—a course drawn from her personal life journey after receiving an autism diagnosis in 1998. At the time, there was very limited autism awareness education available within the community. In response to this gap, Kerryn created The Goal, which went on to form the foundation of KTalk’s practical, accessible approach to learning.
After repeatedly encountering barriers to securing employment, Kerryn made the decision to create her own opportunity. That decision became KTalk.
Between 2008 and 2012, Kerryn continued to build on this momentum, developing additional training programs and refining KTalk’s offerings as community needs evolved. These courses have since been reviewed and updated to align with current standards and expectations.
KTalk operated successfully for eight years, from 2007 to 2013. In May 2023, the business was relaunched after Kerryn felt a strong pull during the COVID lockdown period to return to working on the business. The relaunch marked a return to self-employment and a renewed commitment to continuing KTalk as part of Kerryn’s long-term working career.
KTalk now serves the wider community by providing autism training that builds understanding capacity for individuals who seek empowerment and positive, lasting, meaningful, and real impact to change people’s lives through its offerings. It provides support to achieve greater choice, control, and positive life outcomes.
